Opened on April 12 by the owners behind Mount Kisco’s Hacienda La Paloma, Sugar Rhum, home to the space formerly occupied by Cafe of Love, is a Latin fusion eatery offering plenty of traditional Latin dishes in a classy and cultural atmosphere.
On the menu, you’ll find classic appetizers like empanadas, calamari and anticuchos (a type of Peruvian grilled skewer), as well as salads, seafood, ribs, steak, dumplings and more. The eatery also offers five varieties of tapas, each as authentic as the last.
Menu items are made fresh daily using traditional Latin ingredients and flavors. Sugar Rhum also offers a full bar with a variety of wine, beer and specialty cocktails.
Though Sugar Rhum is still in its early stages after opening, it’s managed to hold down a four-star rating on Yelp. Guests have equal praise for quality of food and service.
“Just stopped in with my wife during happy hour. What a beautiful place! Service was great, drinks were amazing and appetizer was delicious! Staff couldn't be nicer or more welcoming…the atmosphere was great!” wrote Justin B. in a May 8 Yelp review.
Sugar Rhum is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information, visit the restaurant’s Instagram page.
